RESEARCH GROUP ON A POST-SECULAR SCIENCE
Through a series of study groups focusing on the intersection of faith and science extracted from various germane bodies of scholarship, the Seymour Institute aims to formulate a foundational statement on a philosophical theology of science. White papers ensuing from the studies will form the basis of a conference from which will proceed 1 or 2 multi-authored volumes of a Post Secular Theory of Science with relevance for the next generation. These volumes will record the proceedings of the meetings, white papers and conference.

"Martin Luther King and the Challenge of Religious Freedom"
Last year, the Seymour Institute for Black Church and Policy Studies focused on the key role that religious freedom played in the accomplishments of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King and the transformative Civil Rights Movement. Church leaders from around the country discussed the critical importance of the Black Church’s service to the poor and needy and the lynchpin of religious freedom on which that work rests. Current threats to religious freedom and how the Black Church can respond concluded the discussion.
